Weekly Buzz – 06/01/18

Hello Collectors,

Lots going on in WallaVille. We know you have lots going on, so we’ll try and make this brief. Enjoy!

Behind the Curtain

We’ve made some optimizations to various areas of the app’s backend code, which should speed up various aspects of the app. Due to the higher amount of in-game activity within the past few days, players may experience a tad more latency when foraging, interacting with places, or mixing. This is being handled by our development team at the moment with the goal of having the least amount of load time as possible. However, we are a worldwide game, so some load time is to be expected from time to time.

The new Wishing Well item and game mechanic was added to WallaBee on Wednesday, with just over 200k items used for wishes within the first 24 hours. Thank you for experimenting with this new portion of the game. We hope that you find it as an enjoyable alternative to recycling junk items. As of today, we have removed the ability for Player Uniques to be offered to the Wishing Well. This decision was reached after 48 hours of hard thought, wrestling with whether or not it was the right decision moving forward for the game and community. Although we cannot go back in time to alter how the first few Wells were charged, we can learn from history and move forward in the right direction. We realize that this will go over well with some players and not so well with others, but that is our decision to make regarding what we believe is best moving forward. There are other great alternatives to using Player Uniques if you’re clever enough to find them (some have been shared in the forums). We’ve made a few changes to item pricing to help accommodate this sudden change.

Today is National Donut Day in the States, so Donuts have been added to the store and all foragable places for a limited time.

We’re nearly at the end of The Chase. Last we saw, there was a run-in with a marching band and an attempted escape with some nearby stairs. What will happen next? Only time will tell.

We have adjusted the categorization of various Uniques from ‘Player’ to ‘WallaBee.’ These include Boots & Cats and the entire Santa Hat family of items. The ordering of these Uniques within the Market will be slightly adjusted to reflect this change, with them showing closer to the top than other Player Uniques.

Weekly Buzz – 05/25/18

Hello Collectors,

Happy Towel Day! Have you seen QueenofDNile‘s new Player Unique? If not, you should check it out. You’ll never know when you may need it.

Behind the Curtain

Do you hear Yanny? Laurel? Either way, you’re sure to love a new WallaBee Unique that was released this week. This should end the debate for good.

Last week, we asked for name suggestions for the new Gardening set. The votes and in and the set is live. Thanks to everyone who contributed such great names. We loved many of them, but can only have one winner. Congratulations Cali49 on coming up with the winning title: Weed ‘Em And Reap! You will be receiving 5 shiny Mystery Boxes for your efforts.

Information about the Wishing Well was released this week to some much needed positive feedback. We believe this will be a great opportunity for the game to progress forward and look forward to releasing this new feature for everyone to enjoy. The Wishing Well will be found in Weed ‘Em And Reap as a normal item. If you have questions about the Wishing Well, you can read more here.

Benson is on the move again this weekend! Check Benson #181 and higher to see where he is! Follow this link and hit ‘next’ to find out quickly!

The social competition on our Facebook page ended this week! We’d like to share another congratulations with Verit4s for his suggestion of Mixerpool Maintenance Crew. The team cannot wait to get started on this set. We’ll be sure to post updates as we document the process of the Mixerpool and those who work diligently to keep it running.

Oh yeah… we forgot to highlight some artwork from Andy. He says ‘hi,’ by the way.

This Week In WallaBee History | May 21st – May 27th

May 24th, 2012: Life’s a Beach ended with the Seaside Hotel. Who could go for a stay in that hotel? I know I sure could…

May 22nd, 2013: A Whole New World was found, closing the chapter on Arabian Nights. What? No… we don’t see the resemblance at all, sorry.

May 24th, 2013: Pok… Pouch Creatures were released into WallaBee through a very interesting manner… Dr Miu Chudoku gifted users their first Pouch Creature. The next day, the Gems were found, allowing players to evolve the PC they were gifted the previous day. However, players could only forage Gems of opposite typing from the PC they received. For example, if you received Muru (Earth), you would only find Fire and Water Gems. Trading with other players was crucial if you wanted to evolve your creature. Although a clever mechanic, it lead to much frustration for those involved.

May 22nd, 2014: Recluse was released, kicking off the first comic set: Introducing… The Forager. Little did this recluse know that he would be getting kicked in a future item. Get it? Ah.. The next day, the first item in Tiki Tourist was released. Two sets in two days. Crazy.

May 26th, 2015: Ice Scream released its first item. What ever happened to that Chocolate Ice Cream we were promised?

Wishing Well at the Wishing Well

Hello Collectors,

We are excited to highlight a new game mechanic coming soon to WallaBee. Although this new feature is fairly straight forward, there are some important details to highlight before we release it to the community. The following information should educate players on how everything works. Our goal is understanding.

The purpose of this new feature is to aid players in finding worth in ‘junk’ items. Items over a certain number are often viewed as invaluable by most collectors. They can be found discarded across the map, either dropped or recycled (mostly in Bangkok, for some reason…). Although they can be helpful in certain mixes and earning the Recycler line of achievements, most items over a certain number end up collecting dust. Since WallaBee strives to be a game of options, we’d like to offer yet another alternative to dropping or recycling those pesky ‘junk’ items you get while foraging – The Wish Well.

The Wishing Well

WallaVille has seen its fair share of magical, curious things over the years (many of them rumored). One such example is that once every 7 years, a mysterious wishing well appears within the garden of a lucky gardener. Whether true or not, the hope that accompanies this tales brings much beauty to the town. Gardens are kept tidy and growing in hopes of receiving a visit from the elusive wishing well. As the fable states, the well grants favorable items to those who drop enough unfavorable items inside. With such a wishing well, recycling would be a thing of the past for some… And so, the community kept hoping, waiting for a glimpse of the wishing well to bless their lives once again.

  • The Wishing Well will mix with any item over #10,000.
    • Once mixed, the Wishing Well remains in your pouch and gains a wish (credit), with the other item destroyed.
    • A Wishing Well will not mix with another Wishing Well, regardless of the number.
    • EDIT: The Wishing Well will no longer work with Uniques. However, Exclusives will still be available for use.
  • Once a Wishing Well has 50 wishes, it can be Redeemed through the context menu.
    • Redeemed Wishing Wells disappear and leave you a reward (like Grab Bags).
    • Having more than 50 wishes does not increase your reward/odds of receiving a particular reward.
    • There are various types of rewards, including a mixture of old and new items.
  • New types of items found within Wishing Wells: Miniest Mystery Boxes (x3) and Mystery Bag.
    • Miniest Mystery Box
      • Three new types: Bronze (BZ), Silver (SL), and Gold (GD).
      • Can be upgraded to Minier and Mini sizes through mixing two of the same item.
        • I.E. Miniest (GD) + Miniest (GD) = Minier (GD)
      • Opened Miniest/Minier/Mini Mystery Boxes disappear and leave you with a reward.
        • Rewards differ by type and increase as the box size increases.
    • Mystery Bag
      • Behaves like a normal Grab Bag, but only contains already released Wallagraphic items.
      • Opened Mystery Bags disappear and leave you a Wallagraphic item.

UPDATED:

Here’s a quick image to help clarify the probability of rewards received. Both items in each tier have the same chance of being selected.

That’s it! We hope that you enjoy taking advantage of this new feature.

Weekly Buzz – 05/18/18

Hello Collectors,

Did you miss us last week? We were working hard to bring better releases to you. Luckily, we should be returning to your normally scheduled programming soon! Enjoy!

Behind the Curtain

Our efforts to create a smoother drop continues. We have seen much improvement with this with the last 2 item releases, but we’re not done yet. We appreciate the help and feedback about both good and bad experiences within the app during a drop. Keep those coming to support@wallabeegame.com.

Last week, we gave the community an Artwork Survey to gauge thoughts about the current style of items within WallaBee. So far, the feedback has been thought provoking and insightful for how we can continue to grow WallaBee moving forward. We know that the user experience is very important, which is why we want to hear from our players. We love you all!

The Mixerpool was topped off again on Monday with many low numbered items thrown in. If you’re still in the mixing mood, we’re working out a fun new way to get Bronze and Silver Mixers. Stay tuned for details later on.

A social competition has begun on our Facebook page! If you have an idea for an awesome new set, submit it as a comment on that post for your chance to see it come to life, see your username in the item artwork, and win some great in-game prizes. Don’t forget to vote for other ideas you’d like to see. The idea with the most likes (reactions) will win! Good luck!

Speaking of competitions, here’s another opportunity to share in WallaBee history. We have a new set coming out soon that needs some tender loving care… and a title! Our favorite submission through the forums will win a snazzy new Mystery Box… or two… or five. Don’t be afraid to get down and dirty with the puns – we dig ’em!

WALLACOMP!!

ToysRGood’s Karate Kid

This Week In WallaBee History | May 14th – May 20th

May 14th, 2014: The first Bronze Coin was created by Targeteer2k. He also created the #1 Silver Coin the next day. Way to go!

May 16th, 2017: The Camping Multitool was released with some -cough- issues. Those who had to deal with that release had their recently acquired multitool replaced by a Broken Multitool. What’s so broken about this tool, you might ask? Well, it’s upside down for starters.

May 17th, 2016: Many, many flower arrangements released on this day: The Royal, Happy Celebration, Spring Delight, Vibrant Seduction, The Very Lovely Special Garden, and Unparalleled Wonder.

May 18th, 2017: The actual Camping Multitool was released. This one is right-side up. Yay!

WallaBee Artwork Survey

Hello Collectors,

We at WallaBee love hearing from our community. It helps us see where we’ve succeeded and failed in the past, what we’re doing right and wrong in the present, and where we can grow to in the future. Although there are topics everyone would love to share with us at the moment about what’s currently wrong with the app in the present, that is a long bump in the road that we hope to overcome ASAP. However, we cannot let a present issue hinder us from moving forward and making WallaBee the best that we can in the future. So, while the development team is working hard to make sure the present is taken care of, we can plan another aspect of future growth right now: Artwork.

Since we typically make changes to the app based on suggestions that align with our vision, we would love to hear from you regarding our artwork!
If you have a few minutes, please consider filling out this simple survey. We would really appreciate it. https://goo.gl/forms/ylYTUMKzVicBWDsy2

Thank you for your continued support.
