3.1.1 Release Notes

Hello Collectors!

WallaBee’s next minor update is rolling out as we speak! Here are some quick notes to read through while you wait for the update to reach your app store of choice.

Profile Borders

Are you confused how to tell players and Staff apart? Maybe there’s too many BeeKeepers to memorize and a quick indicator would help differentiate them! We’ve added some new borders around profile pictures to help distinguish who you’re having a conversation with.

  • Staff: Blue
  • BeeKeepers: Gold
  • Memorial Accounts: Purple

Hide Closed Forums

If you only want to see forum posts that are currently open, you can toggle the view of closed posts. This can really help you focus on active conversations! This setting preference is saved locally on your device, requiring you to toggle it again if another device is used.

  • settings>profile settings>hide closed forums

Item Variants Indicator

Many more items in WallaBee are releasing with variants, so it would definitely be helpful to know which items have them! You can now find this information in your collection, once you’ve saved that type of item.

Removed Market Cap

Have some rare items that just aren’t trading for what you’d like in the forums, but don’t want to give it up for 50k honeycombs? Now you can sell it in the Market for whatever you would like. In fact, there’s a #1 from a Staff member right now!

Other Notable Changes

  • Adjusted layout to better accommodate certain devices.
  • Home screen now shows accurate information (notifications, honeycombs, etc.).
  • Fixed an issue with prestige item buttons locking up sometimes.
  • Various other bug fixes.

3.1 Release Notes

Hello Collectors!

WallaBee’s update with Prestige Items and Saving Variants is now rolling out on iOS and Android! Here are some quick notes to read through while you wait for the update to reach your app store of choice.

Prestige Items

With over 26 million items floating around the world of WallaBee, there’s always plenty of items to collect. While you may have already completed all of your sets, you may be struggling with what to do next. Prestige Items offer a great way to continue hunting down the items you know and love, for a whole new experience!

Creating Prestige Items

There are two different ways to create Prestige Items. Collectibles (Wallagraphics, Exclusives, Uniques) cannot be made into Prestige Items.

  1. Use Royal Jellies (RJ) by selecting the Prestige button while looking at an item.
  2. Mix the new Prestige-O-Matic item with the item you want to prestige.
    • The Prestige-O-Matic can also be used to turn a Prestige Item into a normal item. This will remove all levels earned with your Prestige Item!

Leveling System

  • Mix normal copies of the same item with your Prestige Item to build up its level.
    • Edit: Copies need to be over #5,000 to build up a Prestige Item.
  • Levels begin at 1 and climb to 100, with 5 total tiers of rarity along the way.
  • Each rarity tier has a different requirement of required copies mixed before a new level is achieved.
  • Prestige Levels can be swapped between two Prestige Items of the same type by mixing them together.

Prestige Sets

If each item within a given set is a Prestige Item, the set will gain a bejeweled frame indicating the lowest common rarity tier achieved.

Saving Variants

  • Collections can now hold multiple of the same item type by saving a variant you don’t already have in your collection.
  • When two or more variants are saved in your set, you can highlight which shows within your set by ensuring the eye icon is toggled on from the Item View.
  • Attempting to save a variant you already have saved will prompt a swap option.
  • Exceptions to saving all variant types include, but may not be limited to: Butterflies.

Other Notable Adjustments

Maintenance Mode

WallaBee sometimes has issues or updates that require the game to stop running like normal. We have now added a Maintenance Mode that will not allow you access to the game and give you a helpful reason as to why.

Item History

Visual changes have been made to the Item History view. An item’s history will now slide up to view instead of taking another full page. This was intended to release with 3.0, but missed the deadline. You can slide this screen down or tap out of it to view the item again.

WallaBee 3.0 is LIVE!

Hello Collectors!

Version 3.0.0 is now available for iOS and Android! If you don’t see it available right away, it will be soon! Months of designing, building, and testing have gone into this new version of the app. We are excited to finally release the first step toward a better future with WallaBee! There are a ton of changes made to this new version, so it’s best to update your app ASAP and take a look around! Remember to email support with any concerns.

This is not an exhaustive list of updates, but we’re going to highlight some of the major changes you will immediately encounter.

  • WallaBee has been redesigned to work with universal navigation, instead of a limited tabbed environment. We have given our players a new Home Screen, which can be easily accessed anywhere in the app by tapping the Home button on the top left-hand side. A new Side Drawer navigation has also been implemented to quickly jump to major areas of the app without having to back out to the home screen, allowing for quick transitions during a drop. We have also implemented a new “Stack” functionality, which keeps track of which screens belong within the same family. For example, opening My Pouch and looking at items and their history can all be closed at once by selecting the ‘x’ button on the top right-hand side. This allows for some unique strategy when navigating from the Item Store to My Pouch during a drop. Experiment with which navigation works best for you!
  • All of your saved items are under one roof: My Collection! Show off your Favorite Items easier than ever before by toggling the heart icon on any saved item. You can also now upgrade how many items you want to show off with a new In-App Purchase option: Favorite Bundle!
  • My Pouch now has an easier way to organize your items, interact with your Lockbox, and mix to find new items. Selecting an item will allow you to view it like never before! Players will now be able to see the beautiful artwork and whimsical descriptions on the same page, in addition to actions you can take with the said item.
  • Need to post a trade request, send a message, or check-in on a friend? Head over to the new Community page – your one-stop screen for engaging with the community (outside of the market).
  • Did you miss the most recent item release? Check the bottom of your Home screen! The latest item released will now show after a fresh launch of the app, so you can keep up on your sets!
  • All players now have their own Inventory, where Uniques can be gifted directly to other players or yourself for the first time! This screen also allows players to see their quantity of on-hand Goodies like Honeycombs, Item locks, Royal Jellies, and Chest Keys.
  • In-App Purchases (IAP) have been added back to WallaBee! You can now easily purchase Royal Jellies, which can be swapped for other Goodies and special limited bundles. Check out the BUY screen for more info!
  • FREE GIFT! Hive Chests have been found in WallaVille! These little beauties have all kinds of goodies within them, including honeycombs, item locks, royal jellies, items, or combinations of them all! A special Daily Chest is available for players to claim every 24 hours, while other types of Hive Chests will have to be found via foraging. Open Hive Chests by triggering a timer or claim them immediately with a Chest Key! Hive Chests will begin appearing while foraging soon, so keep an eye out!

There are plenty of other Easter Eggs to stumble upon, so take a look around and enjoy!

WallaBee 2.2.7 Notes

Hello Collectors!

Version 2.2.7 is now available for iOS and Android! The team has been working diligently to make your playing experience better with every update. If there is a feature you would like to see, or a pesky bug that we have yet to address, we would love to hear from you! Remember to email support with any concerns.

Features

  • Collectibles: Search/Sorting/Reordering
  • Pouch: Search/Sorting/Reordering
    • Long-press for item menu
  • Favorite items (all items; limit 12)
  • Foraging screen reimplemented
  • Adjusted speed of star on item created/found pages
  • Fixed an issue with store showing the incorrect image during drop
  • Minor performance improvements and bug fixes

Collectibles: Search/Sorting/Reordering

Players can search, organize, and sort their items in every set and subset of the Collectibles section of the app.

Pouch: Search/Sorting/Reordering

Search by item name, number, and status (Locked, Market, Trade)!

Move items in your pouch by utilizing the Move Mode button! Sort items automatically based on Alphabetical (ascending), Number (ascending), and item created (oldest at the top).

Long-press an item to access the context menu from the pouch! This will save you lots of time!

Items that have requirements to open (Wishing Well) will now only show their extra options when the requirements are met.

Favorite Items

Players can mark any saved item as a Favorite by toggling the heart icon while viewing the item. We are limiting this feature to 12 items per player, with the possibility of this number growing in the future.

View the item from its set or the Favorites section to remove it from your Favorites.

Foraging Screen Update

We’ve brought back a familiar screen, but with a twist! Players will now see Benson’s magnifying glass move about the screen in order to find honeycombs and items when foraging! Adding this screen allows us to reduce the number of API calls made to the server, increasing performance during peak times.

Known Issues

We will update this list and the known issues

  • Locked items still show the old icon (header updated).
  • Store items sometimes show an incorrect set icon.

WallaBee 2.2.5 & 2.2.6 Notes

Hello Collectors!

Version 2.2.5 2.2.6 is now available for iOS in the App Store! Android users will see the update available very soon on the Play Store! The WallaBee team has been working diligently to make your playing experience better with every update. If there is a feature you would like to see, or a pesky bug that we haven’t addressed, we would love to hear from you. Remember to email support with any concerns.

To allow for players to update, there will be a 24 hour drop-free time period beginning now 7:15am, Saturday April 6th (CDT). Expired

Features

  • NEW BRANDING! We have updated the WallaBee logo and various icons within the game. You’ll find all of our beautiful Set Icons updated to a wonderful flat style, along with some icon touchups on your profile page. You’ll also see much more of Benson! What’s not to love there!
  • Collectibles have been added as a new collection type. Jump further down in the blog to read more.
  • Unique Items have been split into various “themed” subsets.
  • Sets are now broken up by generation.
  • Items can now be purchased with “Buy It Now” option from the market without a player listing.
  • Adjusted profile layout.
  • Reorganized Settings page.
  • Various bug fixes.
    • Profile bio doesn’t disappear when viewing from settings page (and no changes are made).
    • Send Message button updated for Return key (line break).
    • “Forever scroll” through the Store.
    • Optimized image loading in the Store
    • Honeycomb balance shows in Market.
    • Unable to send blank messages.

Collectibles

We’re taking a new approach to items that previously lived on your profile page (Branded, Wallagraphic, and Uniques)! You’ll now find a “Collectibles” section on your profile tab that holds all items in WallaBee that don’t fit into a WB-released set.

Similar to how all WallaBee Sets have a circular icon, all Collectibles will have a star-shaped icon. Collectibles will also only show you items and subsets that you have collected, instead of displaying missing ‘gaps’ in your collection. This means that all Collectibles are 100% optional to collect, without the dreaded “x/y” insinuating you have to collect them. Here’s a quick breakdown of the various new categories you’ll find within Collectibles.

Exclusive Items

Previously known as WallaBee Uniques, these items are obtained through normal gameplay (foraging, mixing, purchasing in store).

Examples of these are WallaBy, Super Burger, and Wand Of Transformation.

Themed Exclusive Items

An extension of the above, these items are categorized for your convenience by their theme.

Examples of these are Grab Bags, Mixers, and Branded Items.

Wallagraphic Items

This set no longer has a x/y view. Not interested in collecting these? No worries!

Unique Items

100% Player or Staff distributed items. Can be commissioned by players when available.

Examples include Saint Nicholas, Yorkshire Rose, and Jack Frost.

Themed Unique Items

Just like the above, but themed into smaller player-owned (or staff-owned) subsets.

All Themed Unique subsets will contain a rainbow border around the edge of the star, with a customized icon within.
This helps distinguish a player-owned set from a Themed Exclusive set

Examples include BAU items, Texas Music Legends, and Fantastic Creatures.

Generations

One issue that newer players have when creating an account is the sheer amount of items there are to collect. The Sets page can be really intimidating with over 170 sets listed. So in order to help our organizing efforts, improve app performance, and ease newer players into collecting in smaller chunks… we’ve split the long list of sets into “bite-sized” bits. With this update, each generation contains 50 sets. We know this will take some getting used to for our current players, but we are sure the transition will be quick to learn! Our website (and ItemBrowser) also reflects this update to help keep consistency.

We look forward to adding even more updates soon, including the ability to save variants! It’s coming, don’t worry. 😉

WallaBee 2.2.4 Notes

Hello Collectors!

It’s been a while, but we’re back with another update! We’ve fixed some bugs, added some new features, and paved the way for some awesome things to come! Version 2.2.4 is now available for iOS and Android! We work diligently to make your experience playing WallaBee better with every update. If there is a feature you would like to see, or a pesky bug that we haven’t addressed in our Weekly Buzz segment, we would love to hear from you. Remember to check out the Weekly Buzz for current updates.

Features

  • Buy Items Instantly!
    • Items have been added to the Market as a ‘buy-it-now’ option. Need Red Paint, but don’t want to stalk the store for hours? Now you can buy it immediately and save yourself some aggravation. This won’t apply to all items, so you still may have to forage for those WallaBee Mixers!
    • There is a timeout of ten seconds between purchases of the same item.
    • NOTE: New items will not be available through this method until after a drop.
  • New Uniques Page
    • Move Mode allows for faster adjustments. No need to long-press each card, simply tap! Hit ‘Done’ to save the order.
    • Sorting Uniques has never been easier! Players can sort their Uniques by Alphabetical, Number, or Release Date. Adjusting.
    • Live search for items you have saved. Works for items or numbers.
    • Favorite items! By selecting a saved item’s context menu, players can select which items display in the new Favorites tab.

  • Updated Foraging Timer
    • We’ve upped the number of forages at each location from 3 to 10!
  • Enhanced Item Dropping
    • You can now drop item after item without having to go back a page! This was a ‘bug’ in a previous build, but we thought it might make a nice new addition to your dropping needs.

Bug Fixes

  • Item View Crash
  • Performing an action that triggers a pop up sometimes ‘freezes,’ which needs a hard close to fix
  • Places List – Bottom of row doesn’t register input.
  • Sets Page always shows ‘try again’ before loading view
  • Misc. minor bugs
