KickStarter Emails!

KickStarter Surveys!

Kickstarter surveys have been sent to 80% of those who pledged. The final remaining group received a Kickstarter message concerning the hat they are expecting. Everything is finally moving ahead! *insert kermit gif*

Please fill out your survey ASAP so we can fill the orders. We will pass out the Kickstarter unique in the order of your pledge. Distribution will begin next week. For those who pledged $10 or more your +10 pouch size will also occur next week.

For those who added additional funds to your pledge level, in order to add a shirt, hat, etc. to your order, please forward your KickStarter email to support@wallab.ee and include the details of what else you ordered. Since KickStarter only recognizes the level you pledge for, we want to make sure you get what you paid for. We will work with you through email to make sure that happens..

Remember, anyone who pledged more than $5 will receive the in game unique card. Anyone $10 or more receives the card and +10 pouch space.

Did you miss the KickStarter deadline?

Don’t worry! If you want to obtain the unique or one of the other items, stay tuned! Once we have everything passed out for the original pledges, we will set up a way for you to show your support.

Thanks again to everyone for your patience!

There Can Only Bee One

Hey everyone, today we want to bring up the issue of duplicate items.

Duplicate Items

Before you start blaming us for them, duplicates have been around since The Final Frontier. For example, look at UFO 283. One was mixed to make Alien 101 and the other is saved to bawlingchicken’s set.

Now that I have your attention, we really want to purge the game of these copy-cats once-and-for-all. How do we do that? With your help.

The Problem

As long as duplicates are alive, the game thinks that they are okay to generate. Remember when players were getting #0? Same concept.

I personally tried obtaining duplicates during newer item releases, but found myself running out of lower items to trade away. Once I obtained them, I would delete them from the database, but it left a null in the game. As you can imagine, this was not something we want, as it can cause your app to crash.

The Solution

I am pleased to present a new Unique item to the game: “There Can Only Bee One.”

This item will be used to replace duplicates in two ways:

  • If it was used in a mix (ie. Alien 101).
  • To help compensate you when we ask for it.

How will the numbers be distributed?

I will be working on a spreadsheet, starting tomorrow, from the oldest duplicate to the most recent. For now, the #1 will be held to the side, for a later date. If you want to beat some of the lower numbers to the chopping block, and have a duplicate within your set/pouch/stash/etc… Please Email me. I will be checking email before starting this purge, so this gives you about 15 hours to help us find the duplicates.

Obviously, there will be a few other questions about this, so please do not hesitate to ask.

WallaBee Tools

Hello again, we want to talk with you today about paid vs. free WallaBee tools.

Third-Party Developers

Back in October, we made an announcement that we wanted to be in contact with API developers, but didn’t go into much detail. Here is a quick sneak-peak at some hard decisions that need to happen.

Paid vs. Free Tools

We have many users in our community that benefit the gameplay of our app with tools that they create. These are available in the App Store, as well as through your web browser. Many of these tools are free to use, but some require one-time fees, whether it is to purchase the app or unlock features within. As we move forward with the growth of the game, we have requested that API developers who charge for their tools to contact us. Some of these developers have decided to not continue working with us as we grow. In our efforts to be more transparent with you, we feel it is important to let you know that there is a chance that some paid apps will become unusable by January 15th.

Free apps/websites will continue to remain up and operational for the foreseeable future.

We thank you for your continued support as we advance on developing the game and community.

2016 Announcement

Hey Everyone,

Where do we begin?

We are so sorry for all of the downtimes over the past 2 weeks. Our current server provider (Linode) was getting DDoS attacks over the holiday season, and as a result, all of our user interface and backend was down. We also apologize for the immediate lack of communication on the downtimes during the holiday week. This community is the most important aspect of the game, and we left you without knowing what was fully going on. One of our New Year?s Resolutions is to make sure that doesn?t happen in the future.

Double Honeycombs & Locks

This sale has now ended.

Better Communication/BK Hunt Update

As we strive for better communication with you, we appreciate the amount of patience you have already presented us. As we begin to grow the community closer together, this communication will be evermore necessary. With that being said, we will begin looking at the BK applications over the coming weeks, as the application process closed Jan 1st. We request patience as the submittals are reviewed. There is no timeframe for announcements of who made it, but you can be sure that once we make our decision, you all will know.

KickStarter

We are beginning this first week of 2016 focusing on getting the rest of the emails out to those of you who contributed toward our KickStarter campaign. We really do appreciate your patience. Hang on tight! They?re coming!

Push Notifications

Scott is currently looking into it. There was a switch over, as the previous host of WB?s push notifications is shutting down. We will have updates for you as we get them.

New Items?

Please comment below with your response. Do you want a new item to wait until Linode is back to 100%? New item now? We want to hear from you.

New Set

The final thing for this update is a sneak-peek at our next set, which will be coming soon:

No, the set is not called Throwback Thursday. As we continue to be community-minded, we want to highlight some of WallaBee’s Legacy.

Thank you all for your support. We Love you guys!
