Competitions and Butterflies

Hello Collectors!

We are well on our way to a very fun Bowling Competition! If you haven’t joined a club yet, you can do so by mixing these two items (1, 2).

WARNING! The following contains spoilers for the set. If you do not wish to know, please halt now and enjoy this Bearded Lady design created in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Bowling Competition

This is a bowling set, so there are a few items you’re likely to encounter, such as Bowling Balls, Pins, and the results of mixing these items together… So here are some details so you and your club can plan for success.

There are three different types of bowling balls: Basic, Amateur, and Pro. Each ball is more likely to earn you a certain result. For example, a Basic Ball will more likely earn you an Average Shot more than a Strike, while a Pro Ball has a better chance to hit a Strike. However, with that higher Strike chance also comes a higher chance to roll a Gutterball.

Items in this set that will result in points for your team will either be the result of mixing or interacting with (“Roll Again”). Unlike normal bowling with a set number of frames in which to play and a score that only goes through 300, our ‘frames’ will take place over a 2-week span with the ability to earn up to 450,000 points. Each club will have access to their own special location with 300 item spots (only visible by that club) where items can be placed to earn points. Should multiple clubs reach the potential max points listed above before the competition ends, additional item spots will be added to their club. There are no ties in this competition.

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday, May 25th 00:00:01 UTC – Sunday, June 7th 23:59:59 UTC
The winning club will be announced on Monday, June 8th.

Points will be awarded as follows:

Earned Points
- Spare: 50 points
- Strike: 100 points
- Turkey: 400 points
- Hambone: 500 points
- Ham Turkey Dinner: 1000 points
- Golden Turkey: 1500 points
No points:
- Normal set items (Attendant, Rental Shoes, etc.)
- Average Shot
- Split

To earn points, players must fill their special Club location with items. Keep some strategy in mind when dropping items at this place, as there is limited space.

A breakdown of each club’s points will be available on our website closer to the beginning of the competition. We hope you enjoy this fun game within a game, as we bowl our hearts out!

Butterflies

As the weather warms up (in the Northern Hemisphere), butterflies are fluttering around, landing in various locations. Little known fact, Robbie and his family raised (if you can say that) some butterflies and let them go recently… which was a great experience to share with loved ones. Another great experience with butterflies is to collect them, so that’s exactly what we’re going to give you very soon!

Why is this announcement happening by way of the blog, you may ask? Well, these butterflies act differently from all other items in WallaBee. These items will begin appearing at random locations around the world at launch and will continue to be found at locations afterward. Unlike buying or foraging an item, these butterflies will already be created, waiting to be picked up. While this is a fun geolocation aspect on its own, there is another twist! Similar to the way collectors display their butterflies, any saved butterflies will be ‘pinned’ to your set. You can, however, remove the butterfly from your set once saved, but it will retain it’s ‘pinned’ artwork.

You can expect to see these butterflies appearing near you very soon!

EDIT: These are now live! They will be spawning randomly every 20 minutes out into the wild!

Improvements to the Royal Jelly Store

Hello Collectors!

We have made some recent improvements to the Royal Jelly Store that allow us to keep things fresh. We have added a behind-the-scenes ability for us to limit the number of purchases that can be made on specific products, so we can offer certain items and bargains to our players without it being taken advantage of. However, please keep in mind that items with purchase limits will not disappear once the limit has been met. Instead, a message will appear informing the player that they have met the limit. The purchase limit will be included in the product description for your convenience.

Starting now, players can enjoy the option of a virtual WallaPak in the RJ Store for 1300 RJ. This bundle is similar to the physical WallaPak we offered in 2018, but includes the following:

40k Honeycombs
2 Chest Keys
30 Locks
2 Mystery Boxes (WallaPak Variant)

We will be limiting this to one (1) per person, per month.

Also starting now, players can enjoy a helpful one-time Community Bundle of 5 Chest Keys for 1 Royal Jelly.

We’re Better Together | Free BAU Opportunity

The paper crane is a symbol of hope and healing, which our world desperately needs right now. New Staff-Issued Player Awards!

Hello Collectors!

We’re looking to increase the presence of our player community! To this end, we’ve created a new type of item that will be given as a one-of-a-kind Player Award to those who participate in contests on social media and the forums! In fact, we have a contest coming this weekend! Keep an eye out for your chance to get your hands on the first one!

Details

Plaques come in bronze, silver, and gold.
- Depending on the contest, any (but not necessarily all) will be up for grabs. The first contest dated after this blog post will only award the bronze plaque.
Plaques will be inscribed with your WallaBee username and the date of the contest that you won.
- Always include your WallaBee username in your contest entry.
- Depending on the contest, we may require other information — make sure to read our contest instructions carefully!

WallaFig Rotation | February 1st

Hello Collectors!

Our staff would like to begin by thanking our wonderful players who continue to play and support the game. Without you, we wouldn’t still be doing what we’re doing. One thing that our staff (mostly Robbie) likes to do is mix things up a bit in order to keep you entertained with something new. Who doesn’t like new?! As we continue our line of WallaFigs (WallaFigures, not WallaBee-striped figs) we will be rotating out some of our seasonal options and replacing them with some new offerings! Here is a list of options that will be rotated out beginning February 1st.

Patterns: Red, Green, Yellow, Dark Wood, Prickly Foliage, Gingerbread man
Stickers: Tattoos
Outfit: Plant pot shoes, Fairy Lights (both)

We also wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the new options joining the remaining designs. While this preview doesn’t contain every new addition, it does highlight some of our favorites.

As a reminder, purchasing the “Build-A-Unique Workship” gives you two Uniques: the Gift Box and the WallaFig. Please design both, using the links within the product description, and submit them around the same time so they can be tied together easily. Opening Gift Boxes reveal your WallaFig inside, giving the recipient the same number WallaFig as the Gift Box that was opened. Half-way through December, you’ll be able to design a WallaFig that will come out of your special Gift Box. Lastly, on January 1st 2020, players you have given a Gift Box to will be able to open it, keeping the Gift Box AND the WallaFig inside! Both with the same number! The IAP option comes with two Chest Keys and a special Lightning Chest that guarantees a black Mystery Box when opened. Remember, there are many things that come out of Hive Chests found while foraging, so finding a black Mystery Box may not be in every hive chest found.

December Build-A-Unique

Hello Collectors!

This year’s Black Friday deal is a two-parter! Enjoy two custom items for the price of one! Here’s how this is going to work.

Andy has designed four different present shapes that you can design. Choose from a Square, Rectangle, Wide, or Tall Gift Box, throw on some wrapping paper, ribbons or bows, and even a gift tag saying who it’s from. Of course, what good is a present if there’s nothing inside? As we mentioned above, this special offer has two parts to it! Players that buy the December BAU will be able to design a customized WallaFig collectible item to come out of their selected box. Now we know what you’re thinking… “Won’t opening a box destroy it? How do I know what number WallaFig I’m going to get?” Good news! Opening a box will not destroy it and the WallaFig that is found within the box will retain the same number as the box… leaving you with two special Collectibles of the same number from your friends!

Let’s role-play for a moment. MrV buys this special offering and gifts RedCarRobbie his “MrV’s Striped Present” #1 (what a nice guy!) and Coolant “MrV’s Striped Present” #2. Coolant opens his gift on January 1st and receives “MrV’s WallaFig” #2, while RedCarRobbie holds onto the box until January 10th, opens it, and finds “MrV’s WallaFig” #1! RedCarRobbie has both of MrV’s special items in the same number, still within his pouch… “MrV’s Striped Present” #1 and “MrV’s WallaFig” #1.

While we are very excited to have you begin designing both of these items, the WallaFig will not be available to customize until December 15th. We will notify each player who purchased a BAU that their submission form for designing their WallaFig is ready. On a similar note, we will keep all gift boxes from being opened until January 1st, allowing players time to gift out their boxes, set trades, and design the second half of this special offering!

Box’O’Locks

Hello Collectors,

We have a new type of openable item joining the game that will grant whoever opens it 20 Item Locks. This is very similar to a Mystery Box, just without the Mystery (or the honeycombs). Our hope is that the Box’O’Locks will be used to trade Item Locks to players who may not be able to make purchases, keep Item Locks on-hand for a rainy day, or continue your collection.

This item is receiving a special blog announcement due to the unique nature of its release. This item will begin distributing at #2001, as the first two thousand items have been placed in Limbo for future Mixerpool refills, contests, giveaways, and other random acts of kindness. This item will not appear through normal gameplay (like other Exclusive Items) but will be available by purchase in the Goodies section of the Royal Jelly Store.

Details

Box’O’Locks will appear in the Goodies section of the BUY screen (Royal Jelly Store).

WallaBee 3.0 is LIVE!

Hello Collectors!

Version 3.0.0 is now available for iOS and Android! If you don’t see it available right away, it will be soon! Months of designing, building, and testing have gone into this new version of the app. We are excited to finally release the first step toward a better future with WallaBee! There are a ton of changes made to this new version, so it’s best to update your app ASAP and take a look around! Remember to email support with any concerns.

This is not an exhaustive list of updates, but we’re going to highlight some of the major changes you will immediately encounter.

WallaBee has been redesigned to work with universal navigation, instead of a limited tabbed environment. We have given our players a new Home Screen, which can be easily accessed anywhere in the app by tapping the Home button on the top left-hand side. A new Side Drawer navigation has also been implemented to quickly jump to major areas of the app without having to back out to the home screen, allowing for quick transitions during a drop. We have also implemented a new “Stack” functionality, which keeps track of which screens belong within the same family. For example, opening My Pouch and looking at items and their history can all be closed at once by selecting the ‘x’ button on the top right-hand side. This allows for some unique strategy when navigating from the Item Store to My Pouch during a drop. Experiment with which navigation works best for you!
All of your saved items are under one roof: My Collection! Show off your Favorite Items easier than ever before by toggling the heart icon on any saved item. You can also now upgrade how many items you want to show off with a new In-App Purchase option: Favorite Bundle!
My Pouch now has an easier way to organize your items, interact with your Lockbox, and mix to find new items. Selecting an item will allow you to view it like never before! Players will now be able to see the beautiful artwork and whimsical descriptions on the same page, in addition to actions you can take with the said item.
Need to post a trade request, send a message, or check-in on a friend? Head over to the new Community page – your one-stop screen for engaging with the community (outside of the market).
Did you miss the most recent item release? Check the bottom of your Home screen! The latest item released will now show after a fresh launch of the app, so you can keep up on your sets!
All players now have their own Inventory, where Uniques can be gifted directly to other players or yourself for the first time! This screen also allows players to see their quantity of on-hand Goodies like Honeycombs, Item locks, Royal Jellies, and Chest Keys.
In-App Purchases (IAP) have been added back to WallaBee! You can now easily purchase Royal Jellies, which can be swapped for other Goodies and special limited bundles. Check out the BUY screen for more info!
FREE GIFT! Hive Chests have been found in WallaVille! These little beauties have all kinds of goodies within them, including honeycombs, item locks, royal jellies, items, or combinations of them all! A special Daily Chest is available for players to claim every 24 hours, while other types of Hive Chests will have to be found via foraging. Open Hive Chests by triggering a timer or claim them immediately with a Chest Key! Hive Chests will begin appearing while foraging soon, so keep an eye out!

There are plenty of other Easter Eggs to stumble upon, so take a look around and enjoy!
